PPH Pipes and Fittings for Chemical Service
One material all the way through. Polypropylene homopolymer produced as a single homogeneous wall, with no liner to lift, no reinforcement layer to separate and no bond line for an acid to find.
Anjney offers electrofusion jointing on PPH up to 630 mm. We do not supply PPH on butt fusion.
Why PPH for chemical duty
Polypropylene homopolymer is the stiffest and most chemically resistant member of the polypropylene family. What the fluid touches on day one is the same material through the full wall, and the same material the welder fuses.
Resistant where metal is not
Inert to hydrochloric acid, dilute sulphuric acid, caustic, salts and brine at concentrations that pit and scale stainless and mild steel. No corrosion allowance to design around.
Stiffer than PP-R
The highest tensile modulus and yield strength in the PP family, so the line holds its shape between supports.
Non-shedding bore
A smooth surface that does not corrode, scale or add metal ions to the stream, which dosing and transfer duties need.
Light and fast to install
About a tenth of the weight of steel pipe of the same size. Lighter supports, smaller crews, shorter shutdowns.
Welded, not jointed
Every connection is a fusion weld. No gasket, thread or flange face to weep in aggressive service.
Low maintenance through life
No painting, re-lining or rescaling shutdowns, and no galvanic pair to manage at dissimilar-metal transitions.

Indicative ratings for unstressed polypropylene from published resistance data. Pressure, temperature, concentration and mixtures all change the result, so send us your medium and service conditions and we confirm each line in writing before you specify.
Jointing
The joint matters most in chemical service
A butt-fusion bead is more than a pressure loss. It is a ledge for solids, scale and crystallising salts to build on, at every joint, for the life of the line. Electrofusion leaves nothing for them to hold on to.
| Size | Jointing | How it is made |
|---|---|---|
| 20–200 mm | Socket fusion | Pipe and fitting heated on a mating tool and pushed home. Fast and tool-controlled. |
| 200–630 mm | Electrofusion | Machine-controlled fusion cycle set by the fitting, so every joint is made the same way, independent of the fitter. |

Where PPH is used
Specified where the medium is aggressive, the duty is continuous, and replacing the line means stopping production. It is a chemical-service pipe, not a general water-utility pipe.

PPH questions
What is PPH pipe?
PPH (also written PPH) pipe is made from polypropylene homopolymer, the stiffest and most chemically resistant grade of polypropylene. Anjney PPH is a single homogeneous wall made to EN ISO 15494, in 20 to 630 mm and PN 10, 16 and 20.
What is the difference between PPH and PPR or PPRCT?
PPH is a homopolymer chosen for chemical resistance and stiffness, and is used for acids, alkalis, chemical drains and effluent. PP-R and PP-RCT are random copolymers designed for hot and cold water under pressure. Anjney uses PPRCT for water utilities and PPH for chemical service.
Which chemicals can PPH carry?
Most acids, alkalis and salts, including hydrochloric acid, dilute sulphuric and nitric acid, phosphoric acid, caustic soda and brine. Strong oxidisers such as hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide, concentrated sulphuric and nitric acid, and aromatic or chlorinated solvents are not recommended. See the guide above, then send us your medium for written confirmation.
What temperature can PPH handle?
Typically 0 °C to +80 °C continuously and up to about 100 °C for short periods, with allowable pressure falling as temperature rises. The real limit depends on the medium, its concentration and the pressure together.
Why electrofusion and not butt fusion?
Butt fusion pushes a bead into the bore at every joint. In chemical service that bead becomes a ledge for solids and crystallising salts and a crevice where chemicals concentrate. Electrofusion fuses inside the socket and leaves the bore clear. Anjney does not supply PPH on butt fusion.
Which fittings are available in PPH?
Socket fusion couplers, elbows, tees, reducers, end caps, long radius elbows and core flanges from 20 to 200 mm; electrofusion couplers, elbows, tees and core flanges from 200 to 630 mm; backing rings from 20 to 630 mm and branch adaptors. See all PPH fittings.
